  • How do I know I might benefit from Functional Medicine treatments?

The major approach is to identify five conditions that are very common: digestive problems, fatigue, weight gain, female hormone issues and depression. These conditions are treated by restoring the proper balance of hormones, digestion, and detoxification.

  • How do you determine what is wrong?

These five chronic symptoms: digestive problems, fatigue, weight gain, hormone imbalances, and depression are often misunderstood or misdiagnosed when symptoms are what is primarily addressed, and the root cause of the damaged system is overlooked.

The Functional Medicine approach in our office is based on the Kalish Method and uses salivary and urine labs to identify 3 main system imbalances: neuroendocrine, gastrointestinal, and liver toxicity. Unfortunately, these systems have been compromised long before symptoms have appeared. One of the goals is to determine any problems with the functioning of an organ system before it develops into a disease. Lab test results are the guide to identify the root cause, and determine treatment to rebalance the body.

  • Do you take insurance?

Insurance companies are not billed. If your insurance company pays for services we can provide you with a superbill that lists all appropriate codes.

  • How long does it take to get results?

Results vary between each person. Some people feel dramatic improvement within the first month, others may take a bit longer. Our standard programs are for a minimum of 6 months. Remember, your body has been dealing with these issues for a long time. Years of stress and illness take its toll, and it takes a proper amount of time to restore.

It almost goes without saying that results depend on the diligence of each person to follow their daily protocol and to make lifestyle changes. Whole Body Health is committed to assisting and empowering each person to take back their health and experience life changing results if they are committed to doing so as well.

  • I’m afraid of needles, can I still be treated?

For example, many clients have benefited from the healing properties of needle-less treatments such as herbal medicine, acupressure, cupping, gua sha, cold laser therapy, and more. Please visit our Services page for a complete list of treatments available.

  • How long does a treatment last?

Expect your first appointment to last about 1.5 hours. This includes a full interview regarding your medical and health history. This session includes a full Acupuncture treatment as well. Regular treatments thereafter will take about 45” to 1 hour.

  • Does Acupuncture hurt?

Occasionally a person may feel a pinch, but not usually. Different people have different sensitivities depending on their physical or emotional state. If you are feeling especially sensitive or emotional on the day of your treatment, be sure to let the doctor know.
